React Flow can save the files your workflows create, such as PDFs and AI-generated images, directly to your Google Drive. It can also download a file from a link and store it in Drive, so you can attach it to an email later.

# ${color}[#204a87](What you can do with Google Drive)

Google Drive is available as a storage option in these actions:

* **Create PDF document** ([how to generate PDFs](https://help.devit.software/en/article/generate-pdf-documents-in-a-workflow-1k71k8q/)): save the generated PDF to Drive.
* **Generate Image** ([how to generate images](https://help.devit.software/en/article/generate-images-with-openai-in-a-workflow-9b5nmk/)): save the AI-generated image to Drive.
* **Transfer file from URL**: download a file from a link and save it to Drive.
* **Send email**: attach a file from Drive (the **Google Drive** tab in **Select file**).

Google Drive works through the **Google** connector, the same one that is used for Google Sheets. One connection covers both.

# ${color}[#204a87](Connect your Google account)

1. In React Flow, go to **Connectors** and click **Google**.
2. Enter a **Name** for the connection (and a **Description** if you like).
3. Click **Sign in with Google** and choose your Google account.
4. Allow the access that Google asks for and save the connection.

You can also create the connection directly from an action: under **Select connector**, click **Select connection** > **Create new**.

# ${color}[#204a87](Save a generated file to Google Drive)

1. Open the **Create PDF document** or **Generate Image** action.
2. Under **Select storage**, choose **Google Drive**.
3. Under **Select connector**, click **Select connection** and choose your Google connection.
4. Click **Save**.

For PDFs saved to Google Drive, the content can be up to 25 MB.

# ${color}[#204a87](Copy a file from a URL to Google Drive)

Use the **Transfer file from URL** action ("Download a file from a URL and save it to Shopify or Google Drive, so it can be attached to an email"):

1. In **File URL**, enter the link to the file, for example a supplier's invoice or a link returned by **Send HTTP request**. You can use variables.
2. In **File name**, enter a name, or leave it empty to use the name from the URL. The file extension is added automatically.
3. Under **Select storage**, choose **Google Drive** and your connection.

Limits:

* The link must be a public HTTPS address on the standard port. Links to private networks are rejected.
* Up to 3 redirects are followed.
* Allowed types: PDF, PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, CSV, TXT, ZIP and Office documents (DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX). The type is checked against the file contents, not the name.
* Maximum file size: 5 MB.

# ${color}[#204a87](Attach a Google Drive file to an email)

1. In **Send email**, select **Attachments** and click **Add files**.
2. In the **Select file** window:
   * open the **Workflow** tab to attach a file that an earlier step of this workflow saves to Drive, or
   * open the **Google Drive** tab, select your connection and choose an existing file.
3. Click **Done**.

# ${color}[#204a87](Which files React Flow can access)

React Flow asks Google only for access to the files it creates or that you open with it. It can't read or change the rest of your Drive. That's why the **Google Drive** tab in **Select file** shows only the files React Flow has saved or that you've given it access to.
