# Why isn't the cart drawer showing on my store?

If customers still see your theme's own cart instead of the ShopCart drawer, one of the reasons below is the cause. Check them in this order.

# ${color}[#204a87](The app embed is turned off)

ShopCart loads on your store through the **Activate ShopCart** app embed. When it's off, the **Theme extension** card on the ShopCart home page shows **Inactive**.

1. Click **Activate** in the **Theme extension** card.
2. Click **Activate extension**. The theme editor opens with the **Activate ShopCart** toggle turned on.
3. Click **Save** in the top-right corner of the theme editor.
4. Go back to ShopCart and check that the status is **Active**.

When the cart is unpublished, ShopCart doesn't load on your store at all: the theme's own cart opens and the sticky cart button is hidden too.

1. In the **Customize your cart** section, click **Edit** in the **Cart Drawer** card.
2. Look at **Cart Status** at the top of the editor. If it says **Inactive**, click **Publish**.

The status changes to **Publish** and the button changes to **Unpublish**.

# ${color}[#204a87](You switched to another theme)

The app embed is turned on for one theme only. If you published a new theme or a new copy of your theme, turn on **Activate ShopCart** in that theme as well. Use the **Activate** button in the **Theme extension** card, as in the first section, or open **Online Store** > **Themes** > **Customize** > **App embeds**.

# ${color}[#204a87](The page shows an old version)

After you turn on the embed or publish the cart, reload the store page. If you still see the old cart, open the store in a private browser window.

If the embed is **Active**, the cart is published and the theme's cart still opens, your theme may use its own custom cart. Contact us in the live chat or at support@devit.software, and we'll check your setup.
