Troubleshooting: Why Aren’t Emails Showing Up in the Channel?

Troubleshooting

In this article:

If you've connected the Email Bot but don’t see any emails appearing in your Discord channel, don’t worry - this guide will help you figure out what’s going on. Follow the steps below to check the most common issues.

✔️ Step 1: Use the /connect command

To receive emails in your Discord channel, the bot must be connected using the /connect command.

If you’ve already run this command, double-check the following:

  1. Go to the channel where you want to receive emails.
  2. Run the /connect command again.

If the connection is active, the bot will confirm it by sending you a message. In that message, you’ll see the unique email address used for this integration. Ensure the email you’re sending messages to matches the address shown by the bot. If they don’t match, emails won’t be delivered to the channel.

  1. Open your email provider and send a test message to the provided email.

If the connection is clear, the message will appear in the connected channel.

If the connection is unsuccessful, you will get a message with instructions on what to do next. Probably, you don’t have required permissions. Check our article – Discord server permissions and scopes – to figure out how to enable them.

Note: When you run /connect, the bot automatically checks if it has all the necessary permissions. If something is missing (like the right to manage webhooks), you’ll see a message explaining what's wrong and how to fix it.

✔️ Step 2: Try Reconnecting the Bot

If everything seems set up but emails still aren’t arriving, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the bot from the channel by using the /disconnect command.

Important: Using /disconnect will generate a new email address for this channel, which may affect your current setup.

  1. Reconnect the command by using the /connect command.
  2. Send a test email to the new address and check if it appears in the channel.

✔️ Step 3: Check your plan limits

If your subscription is active but you're still not receiving emails, it's possible you've exceeded the message or integration limits of your current plan.

Use the Stats option in the app to view your current usage:

  1. Run the /list command.
  2. Click the Stats button in the appeared message.

If you’re over the limit, consider upgrading to a higher plan to keep everything running smoothly.
