Funnels priority

Funnel Priority Feature

In this article:

✔️ Feature purpose

The Manage priority feature allows users to manually set the priority of existing funnels to decide which funnel runs first.

✔️ How the logic works

The funnel ranked #1 has the highest priority and is triggered first when its conditions match an order. If a higher-priority funnel does not match — or has already been shown — the next funnel in line is evaluated.

Note that when you set up multiple funnels, a lot depends on the initial condition of the funnel.

There are three types of triggers for funnels:

  • Ordered certain product
  • Ordered product from collection
  • Any product

A funnel with “Ordered certain product” or “Ordered product from collection” display condition should have a higher priority than the one that works with “Any product” display condition. Then the display order of the funnels will remain as you set it. Otherwise, if a funnel with “Any product” works first, then a funnel with one product simply won't be displayed.

✔️ Setup steps

  1. Open the app admin and go to the Funnels section in the left-side menu.
  2. Click on Manage priority.
  3. Use the up (↑) and down (↓) arrows to reorder funnels, or drag them using the handle (⠿) on the left.

Priority numbers update automatically as you reorder. Changes take effect immediately — no save button is needed.

✔️ Warnings

  1. Wrong priority. Funnel with “Ordered certain product” or “Ordered product from collection” displaay condition should have a higher priority than the one that works with “Any product” condition.
  2. No priority. When you create multiple funnels and don't prioritize them, there's a high chance they won't work correctly because of the reason described in the first warning. Thus, we always recommend pay attention to the Manage priority feature.

✔️ Example

Priority

Funnel

Trigger

1

Summer Sale

Product from collection: Summer

2

Accessories Cross-sell

Specific product: Running Shoes

3

General Upsell

Any product

In this setup, an order for Running Shoes checks Priority 1 first (Summer Sale). If the customer's order doesn't include a Summer collection product, Priority 2 (Accessories Cross-sell) is evaluated next. Priority 3 (General Upsell) only runs if neither previous funnel matched.
