Matching ReSell's upsell offers to your store's branding

ReSell adds upsell offers across your checkout flow, at four points:

Checkout → Post-purchase → Thank You → Order Status page

Note: the Checkout offer is only available on Shopify Plus plans.

A common question is how to make sure these offers look like they belong on your store, rather than looking like a separate app that doesn't match your store's design. The short answer: ReSell doesn't have its own branding settings. Upsell offers are rendered inside Shopify's existing Checkout, so they automatically pick up whatever branding is already configured in your theme's Checkout settings — same colors, same fonts, nothing to set up twice.

Where to find your checkout branding settings

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Sales channels > Online Store.
  2. Click Edit theme.
  3. In the top-center context switcher, change from Home page to Checkout and customer account.
  4. In the top-left corner, click Settings.

This opens the branding editor for checkout, with sections for background, header, order summary, accent and buttons, input fields, and typography.

What changes, and where it shows up on your offers

Because ReSell reads these settings directly, editing them here updates your upsell offers too — there's nothing to configure inside ReSell itself.

Setting

Where it shows up on ReSell's offer

Background (Main)

Background color of the offer card

Button (Accent and buttons)

Color of the offer's accept/pay button

Error (Input fields)

Reused to highlight the discounted price

Headings (Typography)

Font used for the product title

Body (Typography)

Font used for line items — quantity, subtotal, etc.

Note: the Error field is configured in Shopify's checkout to color input-validation messages (e.g. "This field is required"). ReSell reuses that same configured color to highlight the discounted price on your offers. Since both use the same color value, changing it updates both places at once — your checkout's error messages and the discount highlight on ReSell's offers.

The screenshot below lines up each setting (left, outlined) with the exact element it controls on a live post-purchase offer (right, outlined in the same color):

Any change you make in the theme editor updates the live preview instantly. Once saved, you'll see the update in ReSell's own offer preview, or by placing a real (or test) order and walking through checkout as a customer would.

Verifying your changes

  • Quick check: adjust a setting (e.g. Button color) and watch the live preview in the theme editor update in real time.
  • Full check: save your changes, then either open ReSell's preview for an offer, or place a test order and view the Post-purchase, Thank You, or Order Status page as a customer would see it.
